On behalf of the entire Culture Shifting Weekend team, thank you for supporting the 10th Annual Culture Shifting NYC: the largest gathering of Black and Latinx Venture Capitalists and investors to solve for the inequity in this sector. The weekend offered institutional investors, social impact investors, corporate venturers, angel investors and the investment community-at-large direct face-to-face engagement with our vast and growing GP ecosystem. This year's goal? To turn that $100M we've enabled over the last two years for GPs who showed up and turn that into $300M before this time next year.
It was inspiring to watch each of you operate with an "abundance" mentality and "generosity" behavior during our mission disguised as an event; 2 days, 25 sponsors, 200 guests, including 50 Venture Capitalists, 45 investors, and numerous deals and collaborations in motion among attendees.
Our plan is working!
Over the weekend we were honored to host people like former NFL Player Will Allen, Knight Foundation CFO Juan Martinez, Zume Pizza Founder Julia Collins, Partner at Fenwick & West, Gordy Davidson, Producer and Director F. Gary Gray, Senior Director of Diversity Relations at Wal-Mart Tony Waller, Vice Chairman of Wealth Management and Senior Client Advisor of Morgan Stanley Carla Harris, Chief Legal Officer at Hearst, Eve Burton, and SVP & Chairwoman of HearstLab, Clearlake Capital Founder Jose Feliciano, and Founder of SUPERCHARGED® Summit Kwanza Jones, CEO of Dynex Capital Byron Boston, and top executives from Alabama Power, Silicon Valley Bank, USAA, Carnegie Corporation, University of California, SAP, HorizonX, SamsungNEXT, Toyota AI Ventures, Motley Fool Ventures, Delta Airlines, HubSpot, CapitalG, Bessemer Trust, Pacific Western Bank, VMS, Lightspeed Ventures, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Verizon Media and others.
And a special thank you to Charles Phillips, Board Chair of Infor and Founder of the Black Economic Alliance who underwrote the kick-off party at The Apollo.
