The 8th Annual Culture Shifting Weekend theme was "Advancing Investment Money to Black VCs"; a growing ecosystem. The event gathered approximately 125 Black venture capitalists and investors, and was designed to educate investor prospects and enable deals. Our goal was to deepen relationships with current individual and institutional investors and connect VCs to new ones.

Friday, November 3

Venture Capitalist Luncheon & Fireside Chat

12:00pm - 4:00pm

The Friday event included a VC Luncheon, Fireside Chat & Institutional Investor Panel. The day consisted of 2-minute “lightning talks” presented by successful Venture Capitalists along with networking and private pre-scheduled 1:1 meetings. The fireside chat was led by Troy Carter, Founder of Atom Factory and Managing Director of Cross Culture Ventures with special guest Mark D. Ein, Founder, Venturehouse Group and Capitol Investment Group.

Saturday, November 4

Venture Capitalist Deal-Making Breakfast & Fireside Chat

9:30am - 12:00pm

The Saturday event included a VC Deal-Making Breakfast, Corporate VC Panel and Fireside Chat. Welcome by Michael Carter, Co-Head & Managing Director of Technology Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets. The fireside chat was led by Kwame Anku, Founding Principal, Black Angel Tech Fund with special guest Alonzo Mourning, Founder, Mourning Family Foundation and former NBA player.
